‘To encourage the continuing interest in the history of the local area and of Welsh history in general by hosting regular talks and other events and by the use of modern technology.’

Pontypridd Historical Society exists to foster the continuing interest in the history of Pontypridd and the surrounding area as well as of Wales in general and all things with a Welsh connection worldwide.

We regularly have excellent talks on a wide range of topics covering industrial, sociological, economic, political, geographical and religious history.

These talks are usually held at 7:30pm in the Lower Room of the Pontypridd Museum next to the Old Bridge in Pontypridd, however as a result of the 2020 floods and the pandemic...........SINCE APRIL 2021 WE HAVE HOSTED THESE TALKS FREE OF CHARGE USING ZOOM SOFTWARE.

(Please register for these talks on our upcoming talks page.)

Our talks are open to all and last around an hour and are followed by a lively question and answer session when everyone is encouraged to contribute in order to debate the topic further.

The Society also arranges occasional visits to sites of interest around the local area.
